Food is cooked on order and it took 30 minutes for this order. The food is well done, everything cooked well, which makes it a bit on the dry side. The lentil soup is different vs the rest, tasty. The presentation is where they need to work. For a family tray this looks meh. With all the competitions this will be rough to repeat.

What I ordered: Umm Ali Macaroni Bechamel Koshari Bowl When I tell you its delicious it is beyond delicious. My first time trying Egyptian dishes and I am hooked. I called them and they even gave me utensils and it arrived hot still which was perfect since I dont have any to reheat my food.

There’s plenty of parking in the back, which is always a plus. The sunlight coming in the windows really brightens up the dining room and makes the space inviting. There are plenty of booths and tables, but the interior aesthetic is nothing special. A little Egyptian decor placed around the restaurant helps make things feel a little more homey but they need more! On the day we stopped by, our waiter was a young kid. He was helpful but not doting. At my age, I prefer doting waitstaff. Thankfully he was polite and knowledgeable enough to help us get through the menu. They have a lot of different dishes to choose from including their special Hawawshi Creations! These are Egyptian stuffed sandwiches! Flaky freshly-baked bread is stuffed with meats, veggies and secret herbs and spices! Mmm! I didn’t order one but I would like to try this next time! I ordered their Chicken Tawook dinner. It was a great value! Tons of food!!! It was served with a basket of small, fresh pita and a side of their signature garlic sauce (which was very creamy and not too garlicky) and their hummus (which was smooth, but SUPER HEAVY on the cumin!). It also came with a small house salad. The greens were crispy and cold but it was seriously underdressed in my opinion. Their vinaigrette was barely detectable. It might be partially due to the fact that the lettuce in the salad was very wet. Maybe that diluted the taste of the salad dressing. I don’t know. The salad was sprinkled with sumac to elevate the flavor, which I thought was a nice touch. The two chicken kabobs served in the Tawook dinner were tender, well-seasoned and nicely grilled. They pulled the meat off the skewer before they served it which made it so much easier to eat. When the waiter first set the plate in front of me, I got a whiff of it, and said to my friend, “My Tawook smells like a Christmas cookie!”. The smell of those unique spices and herbs were making my mouth water! LOL. The yellow rice was tender and flavorful! Really good stuff! As an afterthought, I ordered a side of their Feteer Meshaltet. I wanted something more ‘Egyptian’ than just chicken kabobs! The Feteer Meshaltet is “A Symbol of Egyptian Hospitality” It’s a LARGE, flaky, pastry (Like phyllo) baked with layers and layers and layers of pastry and pure ghee. It’s served with a side of a creamy cheese and a side of sweet honey and molasses for dipping. It reminded me of baklava without the honey and nuts. It was warm and flaky but OVERWHELMINGLY greasy from the ghee. Every bite was like crispy, picky, tickly layers of phyllo dough poking at the roof of my mouth and then a blast of butter squirting all over my tongue. It was a little much. The cheese and the honey dip were a nice compliment to the bread and gave it a rich savory sweetness. If you order this bread, make sure you have people to help you eat it! It is RICH! It was a unique experience and I’m really glad I ordered it, but DANG, I can't even image how many calories it is. My friend ordered the fattah masria. She loved the first two pieces of beef. They were tender and deliciously seasoned. The third chunk was extremely fatty so she didn't eat it. Either the garlic tomato sauce or something else in the dish had a tart, robust, vinegar taste that she did care for. Still, she was glad she ordered it because it's always an adventure to order something new. Next time, she'll get a Hawawshi. If you are looking for a place that’s a little more than just a Mediterranean restaurant, then you should definitely give Egyptian Kitchen a try. The restaurant is clean. The food is unique and packed with special flavors. The staff is friendly.

Stopped in late for absolutely flawless and authentic Egyptian comfort food! The koshari was delicious and plentiful... like being in Cairo! The service was excellent... thanks T! Great value for the food. Will certainly be back, especially for the desserts.

I have never had Egyptian food before, and am so glad we tried it! We had the Combo Mezza (excellent salad, very nice hummus and not overpowered garlic dip), Veggie Feteer (flaky crust, perfectly cooked veggies, and not an overpowering amount of cheese) an, and Umm Ali (balanced flavors and not too sweet) for dessert and everything was delicious! The service was attentive but not hovering, and the space was lovely
